RINA Tech UK Leatherhead electrical and materials laboratory

RINA TECH UK LIMITEDLeatherhead, Surrey

RINA TECH UK LIMITED’s Leatherhead laboratory provides electrical and materials testing. Schedule 4717 lists specific petrol-station pipe methods and two RoHS-related analytical methods at its stated address only. RINA also advertises bespoke electrical testing for development programmes. The schedule address is retained here, but the current register gives a different road name and postcode. Confirm the delivery address before sending items.

Key facts

Site and address discrepancy
Schedule 4717 lists Electrical and Materials Testing Laboratories, 1 Springfield Drive, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 7AJ. The current register instead lists 1 Springfield Road, KT22 7NL. Its linked schedule returns the same PDF. Confirm the address directly.
Accredited product scope
The schedule covers thermoplastic and flexible metal pipework for underground installation at petrol filling stations, plus specified analytical testing of electrical and electronic equipment within the RoHS directive scope. Testing is at the stated main address only.
Published enquiry route
Jaime.barr@rina.org, +44 1372 367472 and RINA’s enquiry form. Jaime Barr is the schedule-listed contact, without a verified current job title.

Testing capabilities

Pipe pressure and working-life tests

For the scheduled underground petrol-station pipework, leakage, hydrostatic strength and burst pressure use clause 5.1.2, vacuum 5.1.3, cyclic pressure 5.1.4 and estimated working life 5.2 a. Scope is these clauses only in BS EN 14125:2025 and the explicitly withdrawn 2013 edition.

Pipe mechanical and flexibility tests

The scheduled pipe scope lists crush resistance, bend radius and low-temperature flexibility, impact, puncture resistance and pull tests on connectors under BS EN 14125 clauses 5.4.1 to 5.4.5 only. Forces up to 30 kN apply only to bend radius and low-temperature flexibility.

Fuel compatibility, permeation and swelling

For the scheduled pipework, fuel compatibility uses clause 5.5.1 and fuel permeation and swelling use clauses 5.5.2 and 5.5.3 only, in BS EN 14125:2025 and the explicitly withdrawn 2013 edition.

RoHS-related elemental screening by XRF

The schedule lists X-ray fluorescence screening for lead, mercury, cadmium, total chromium and total bromine in electrical and electronic equipment to BS EN 62321-3-1:2014. Total chromium and bromine screening do not establish hexavalent chromium or restricted flame-retardant compliance.

Presence of hexavalent chromium by UV-Vis

The separate scheduled method determines the presence of hexavalent chromium in electrical and electronic equipment using UV-Vis spectrometry to IEC 62321-7-1:2015. These two analytical methods do not establish a whole-product RoHS certificate.

Bespoke electrical development testing

RINA explicitly identifies its dedicated Leatherhead electrical laboratory and advertises bespoke ageing, development and testing programmes. Examples include temperature rise and tripping-time tests for RCDs, RCCBs and MCBs. This owner-advertised work is outside the retained accredited-method claims.

Equipment and published limits

Access and contact

Use the schedule email Jaime.barr@rina.org, +44 1372 367472 or RINA’s enquiry form to discuss the item, test clauses, preparation and report. Jaime Barr is schedule-listed without a present role claim. Confirm delivery details because the schedule says Springfield Drive, KT22 7AJ, while the current register says Springfield Road, KT22 7NL. Current availability and acceptance of a particular programme require agreement.

Standards and accreditation

UKAS 4717 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017
The current exact register result is RINA TECH UK LIMITED Testing Laboratories 4717. Retrieved schedule issue 021 is dated 14 November 2025 and confines testing to its stated main address. The address discrepancy remains after retrieving the exact register-linked copy.
BS EN 14125 clause-only pipe scope
BS EN 14125:2025 and BS EN 14125:2013, explicitly marked withdrawn, are listed by individual clauses only. Pressure and life use 5.1.2, 5.1.3, 5.1.4 and 5.2 a. Crush, bend/flexibility, impact, puncture and connector pull respectively use 5.4.1 to 5.4.5. Fuel compatibility uses 5.5.1 and permeation/swelling 5.5.2 and 5.5.3. Agree the required edition and clause.
Two exact RoHS-related analytical methods
BS EN 62321-3-1:2014 applies to XRF elemental screening. IEC 62321-7-1:2015 applies to UV-Vis determination of hexavalent chromium presence. No full RoHS certificate or blanket pipe approval follows from these listed tests.
Wider owner portfolio
RINA’s broader materials, fuel and water pipe portfolio and bespoke electrical work are advertised separately. They do not establish that every portfolio method, IP2 or WIS 4-32-19 is accredited at this Leatherhead site.

What to confirm with the facility

  • Resolve the Springfield Drive versus Springfield Road and KT22 7AJ versus KT22 7NL discrepancy before delivery. No relocation, closure or correction is inferred.
  • Confirm the pipe product, clause, edition, force condition and required report. The 2013 pipe edition is explicitly withdrawn, and the schedule is clause-specific. The 30 kN value applies only to bend radius and low-temperature flexibility.
  • Agree whether elemental screening or the separate hexavalent chromium method is needed. Screening total chromium and total bromine is not a certificate for all restricted substances.
  • Provide item dimensions, sample quantity, intended operating conditions, preparation, acceptance criteria, reporting needs and preferred programme dates.

Sources and review

Reviewed by Arc on 1 October 2026 in Europe/London using six fresh official captures. Exact register 4717 and both identical three-page schedule copies support the operator and site-specific scope. Every complete PDF page was extracted, rendered and visually inspected. Issue 021 is dated 14 November 2025, while PDF creation/modification are 17 November 2025. The schedule address is retained with the conflicting current register address and a delivery-confirmation note. The 2025 and explicitly withdrawn 2013 pipe editions remain clause-only, with 30 kN confined to bend radius and low-temperature flexibility. XRF total chromium/bromine screening is distinguished from hexavalent chromium UV-Vis and whole-product compliance. Wider owner scope and schedule contact are qualified. Original titles, canonicals, dates, bytes, headers and provenance are retained. Prior materials content differs in related-service recommendations, so corroboration is limited to the exact retained portfolio excerpt. Prior third-party material is preserved without fresh reliance. Imported generic contact details and coordinates are cleared.
