Key facts
- Exact Livingston laboratory
- 1 Adam Square, Brucefield Industry Park, Livingston EH54 9DE, United Kingdom. The current register and issue 023 identify Sports Labs and allocate Laboratory activities to this address. Separate Site work is not treated as apparatus or activity at the building.
- Current accreditation with location codes
- Testing Laboratories 2614, ISO/IEC 17025:2017, issue 023 dated 14 January 2026. Only methods marked Laboratory or Laboratory & Site are retained below. Laboratory strength, stability and net-fixing rows under EN 748 and EN 16579 are restricted to free-standing portable goals.
- Independent product testing and enquiries
- The owner describes independent laboratory testing for manufacturers and facility operators and publishes +44 1506 444 755, info@sportslabs.co.uk and an enquiry form. Its worldwide offices and broad certification services do not establish every method as local accredited work.
Testing capabilities
Artificial-surface ball rebound and roll
Laboratory & Site rows for artificial sports surfaces cover ball rebound under BS EN 12235:2013 and FIFA Method 01, and ball roll under BS EN 12234:2013 and FIFA Method 03, with the schedule’s additional sport-specific references. These assess surface response to a ball. They do not establish accreditation for every standalone ball certification service advertised by the owner.
Artificial-surface safety and player interaction
Selected Laboratory & Site rows cover critical fall height under BS EN 1177:2018+A1:2023 and World Rugby Method 1, shock absorption under EN 14808:2005 and FIFA 04a, vertical deformation under EN 14809:2005 and FIFA 05a, rotational resistance under EN 15301-1:2007 and FIFA 06, and slip resistance under the stated BS and World Athletics references. Site-only evenness, hardness, planarity, DCP and permeability are separate.
Turf carpet and infill physical testing
Laboratory rows cover carpet mass and total pile weight, pile length, seam strength, tensile strength, thickness, tufts per unit area and tuft-withdrawal force under their stated ISO and EN methods. Infill particle-size distribution, bulk density and particle shape are also Laboratory rows. Pile-yarn thermal analysis remains separate from these physical measurements.
Portable-goal and goal-net physical testing
Strength, stability and net-fixing tests under BS EN 748:2013+A1:2018 and EN 16579:2018 are restricted to free-standing portable goals for Laboratory work. Goal-net mesh breaking strength under ISO 1806:2002 is a Laboratory row. Goal-net entrapment is Site-only and is not assigned to the Livingston laboratory. Confirm the product configuration and exact method.
Player-monitoring and wearable device testing
Laboratory rows cover geometric assessment and impact testing under the FIFA handbook for wearable EPTS devices, Version 3, June 2023. Separate player-monitoring-device rows cover size, weight and shape, impact load and compression load under the World Rugby document dated 11 September 2020. These do not establish every performance or certification claim for a wearable device.

Access and contact
Contact the Livingston provider through +44 1506 444 755, info@sportslabs.co.uk or its enquiry form. The owner says its technical team selects a programme using the product, application and certification requirements. Agree the laboratory method, product configuration, sample preparation, reporting and dates. The register’s 0845 number differs from the owner and January schedule number. Mr S Ramsay and sean@sportslabs.co.uk are dated issue 023 contacts. SAPCA’s Eric O’Donnell listing does not independently verify a present role.

Standards and accreditation
- UKAS 2614 exact Laboratory scope
- Current Testing Laboratories 2614, ISO/IEC 17025:2017, issue 023 dated 14 January 2026 assigns the Laboratory to 1 Adam Square, Livingston. Separate Site activities remain distinct. General owner governing-body and quality-system descriptions do not extend this exact method and location allocation.
- Surface and turf methods
- Use each stated surface or component row and its standard edition. Turf tensile lists both BS EN 12230:2003 and BS EN 12230:2023 Method 1. Seam strength is EN 12228:2013 Method 2. Infill physical rows list EN 933-1:2012, EN 1097-3:1998 and EN 14955:2005. Site-only measurements and separate thermogravimetric or DSC procedures are not combined with this physical scope.
- Goals and wearable-device restrictions
- EN 748 and EN 16579 Laboratory rows are restricted to free-standing portable goals. Goal-net mesh breaking strength is ISO 1806:2002 Laboratory work. Wearable EPTS and World Rugby player-device rows retain their June 2023 and September 2020 documents and listed properties. Governing-body product approval remains a separate process.
What to confirm with the facility
- Confirm the exact product, method and location code. Laboratory and Site allocations are separate, with portable-goal restrictions retained and net entrapment or other Site-only work excluded from local laboratory claims.
- Agree programme, sample preparation, product configuration, reporting and dates. Owner wider certification, field services, global offices, UV or toxicology advertising does not establish every method as accredited at Livingston.
- Use the current owner general enquiry route and resolve any telephone discrepancy with the provider. Named schedule and trade-directory contacts are source-dated details without independently verified present roles.
- Provide the project, product and sample condition, dimensions and configuration, required procedure or standard, acceptance criteria, report requirements and dates. Agree preparation, delivery, access, programme and costs with the provider.

Frequently asked questions
How does laboratory testing differ from field testing?
The owner describes laboratory testing as evaluating turf components under controlled conditions before installation. Field testing examines the completed surface at its venue. The current schedule separately assigns Laboratory and Site methods.
How is a testing programme selected?
The owner says the programme depends on the product type, intended application and certification requirements. Its technical team discusses these objectives and recommends a programme.

Sources and review
Reviewed by Arc on 1 October 2026 in Europe/London using six fresh official owner, trade association and UKAS captures. Current Testing Laboratories 2614 and all six fully inspected pages of issue 023 dated 14 January 2026 identify the Laboratory at 1 Adam Square, Brucefield Industry Park, Livingston EH54 9DE. Five selected physical groups cover surface ball response, surface safety and interaction, turf and infill physical measurements, portable goals and goal nets, and wearable player devices. Laboratory and Site codes remain distinct. Free-standing portable-goal restrictions are preserved, and Site-only measurements and net entrapment are not assigned to the building. Thermal analysis and broader UV, toxicology, ball certification, global services and governing-body approval advertising remain separate. No apparatus inventory, dimensions or operating ranges were verified. Two FAQ answers reflect the visible owner laboratory and field distinction and programme-selection statements. Current general email, phone and form are supported, with the differing register number qualified. Mr S Ramsay and sean@sportslabs.co.uk remain January schedule contacts, and the SAPCA named contact has no independently current-role claim. Owner and UKAS use Industry Park, while SAPCA’s Industrial Park spelling is preserved as a source difference. Original bodies, headers, titles, canonicals, HTML date metadata, JSON-LD type arrays, visible linked dates, trade and register metadata, visible issue date, later PDF timestamps, all six images and extraction and rendering provenance are retained. Actual review and retrieval are separate from original dates. Complete directory overrides clear inherited coordinates.
